Minimum System Requirements


Operating System
  1. Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 3), Windows Server 2003, Vista, or Windows 7.

Note: SQL Server 2005 is required to run all Franklin software products and is included in the installation.


Minimum Processor Speed
  1. Server: 1 GHz (suggested 2 GHz)
  2. Client: 500 MHz (suggested: 1 GHz)

Minimum Memory
  1. Server: 512 MB RAM (suggested 1 GB)
  2. Client: 256 MB RAM (suggested 512 MB)

Note: We suggest having at least 512 MB more memory than the size of your database. (i.e.: If your database is 400 MB, you should have at least 956 MB of RAM). We recommend having as much RAM as possible installed which will allow the application to run faster and more efficiently. You may need to add more memory if other applications are running concurrent with Franklin Digital Print & Copy Estimator. The data server should be located on the fastest computer possible.


Minimum Hard Drive Space
  1. 500 MB of Disk Space for Server (1 GB for customers with large databases.) Installing SQL Server software will occupy approximately 100 MB of disc space initially.
  2. 60 MB of Disk Space for Client.

Network Compatibility

Franklin Estimator is compatible with Microsoft Windows networks and with Novell networks running on TCP/IP. Estimator is not compatible with Novell networks running on IPX/SPX.
